According to chairman and CEO John Tyson: “We said last September that we would evaluate the needs of the new company we created, and where necessary, bring in new talent. This position addresses our company’s critical need to manage, evaluate and act decisively on vital information across many different operating functions.”

Jean Mrha Beach has been named to the new position, reporting to John Tyson.

“We have asked Jean to identify risk factors in the company’s management activities with a focus on wholesale commodity markets. She will help assess and leverage off the intrinsic market share that Tyson represents in beef, chicken and pork. In fact, we believe the scale of our commodity presence in these different areas which, if managed aggressively, will have a positive impact on the bottom line,” explained Tyson.

Beach will be responsible for identifying and evaluating market opportunities and risk factors in the company’s commodity management activities, and devising a broad strategy for maximising economic returns within the opportunities provided.
