A labelling error on a batch of Enfagrow milk powder for toddlers, which was imported from Thailand, suggested that it contained levels of folic acid far above accepted limits in Vietnam. The country’s health authorities responded by saying that a full investigation would be launched.


In a statement, Manuelito Jose de Dios, general manager Thailand and Indochina for Mead Johnson Nutritionals, insisted: “Enfagrow milk powder is manufactured to the highest international safety standard.”


“A re-analysis […] has confirmed that the Enfagrow product in question is 100% safe for consumption and its folic acid composition is within recommended levels for toddlers.”
