US retail giant Wal-Mart has launched a voluntary recall of a cheese product on fears that it may be contaminated with the harmful listeria bacteria.

The recalled product is Prima Della Imported 60% Danish Havarti Cheese, which was sold in packages of different weights and has a code date of 30 December 2002 printed on the back of the package above the total price amount.

The cheese was sold at Wal-Mart’s Supercenter and Neighborhood Market stores. Customers are urged to return the product to any Wal-Mart for a full refund or replacement.

Wal-Mart said no illnesses from have so far been reported.
