The three-month long upgrading of Hope Village, the Unilever Vietnam-funded project for housing orphans, children with special needs and handicapped children, has been completed.

The local subsidiary of Anglo/Dutch consumer products giant Unilever contributed US$40,000 to the upgrade project, completed at a total cost of US$120,000. Niall FitzGerald, president of the global Unilever group, donated another US$50,000 and the rest made up of donations by Unilever companies across Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

Situated in central Da Nang city, the Hope Village home was established in 1992. It is now able to provide accommodation for 200 disadvantaged children.
