
Wayne-Sanderson Farms has acquired fellow US poultry processor Harrison Poultry with immediate effect.
Financial details were not disclosed.
The deal includes all Harrison Poultry assets, Wayne-Sanderson Farms said in a statement on Monday (28 July).
The assets include live production, hatchery, feed mill, manufacturing and transport facilities linked to Harrison Poultry’s operations in Bethlehem and Crawfordville.
Integrated operations will start immediately, with “minimal” changes expected to day-to-day activities.
Harrison Poultry, established in 1958 by R. Harold Harrison, is headquartered in Bethlehem in Georgia and employs more than 1,000 people.

The company produces approximately 400 million pounds of poultry products annually under the Golden Goodness, Pollo Eldorado and Al Marwah brands.
“We are well matched. Wayne-Sanderson Farms is known for quality people, quality farm partners and quality products, and so is Harrison Poultry. We expect the transition to be practically seamless,” Kevin McDaniel, who assumed the role of president and CEO of Wayne-Sanderson Farms, said.
In 2022, Wayne Farms was combined with US peer Sanderson Farms. Alongside US agri-food giant Cargill, Continental Grain, the owner of Wayne Farms, acquired Sanderson.
The group is the third-largest poultry processor in the US, operating 24 fresh and further-processing facilities across Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina and Texas.
