Dutch food group Wessanen has reported a fall in half- year net profit but increases in operating earnings and sales.
Net profit for the period to the end of June stood at EUR16.1m (US$17.6m) compared with EUR46m.

During the same period last year, Wessanen's net profit benefited from the effect of a higher profit from US drinks unit ABC, which the company offloaded earlier this year.
Operating income for the period was higher at EUR19.1m compared with EUR16.7m, "even with a significant step-up in A&P", Wessanen said.
Revenue increased to EUR263.2m from EUR2178.0m
Wessanen said it expected to report a higher operating income in 2015 compared with last year but did not indicate figures. Last year operating income came in at EUR1.3m.
