Wessanen, the Netherlands-based manufacturer, has axed a line from its Kallø range of products on sale in the UK.
The company, which also owns brands such as Mrs Crimble’s gluten-free cakes and Whole Earth peanut butter, has pulled Kallø Pop-Crisps from its UK portfolio.
Unveiled in January last year, Wessanen said the Kallø Pop-Crisps were a range of snacks featuring four “premium, innovative and surprising flavours”, including Himalayan Pink Salt & Hint of Black Pepper and Wasabi & Soy Sauce.
Confirming the removal from the snacks from Wessanen’s UK range, the company said it had been unable to secure listings for the products from the country’s major retailers.
“None of the top five grocery multiple listings were secured and, whilst we tried we couldn’t sustain the ongoing minimum order quantities for smaller retailers and therefore had to take the hard decision to delist it,” Wessanen told just-food today (28 January).
