Its committee on nutrition and foods for special dietary uses wants by 31 March next year opinions on a draft revised standard on infant formula for special medical purposes; a draft revised standard for gluten-free foods; and on a new advisory list of approved nutrient compounds for special dietary foods designed for infants and young children.
On fish, Codex’ committee on fish and fishery products wants views by 10 March regarding a draft code of practice for manufacturing quick frozen coated products and salted fish; and reforms to a standard for canned sardines and ‘sardine-type products’. The organisation is also consulting on health standards for live and raw bivalve molluscs, lobsters and crabs.
Comments have to come through governments or international organisations and Codex wants them by email to codex@fao.org.
