One is a proposed maximum level for total aflatoxins in unprocessed almonds, hazelnuts and pistachios; another is a code of practice for the prevention and reduction of aflatoxin contamination in tree nuts.

Government members of the world food standards body have until 30 September and 15 June respectively to comment on these proposals, which have been considered by the codex committee on food additives and contaminants.

The committee has also drawn up proposed draft maximum levels for cadmium in marine bivalve molluscs, excluding oysters and scallops.
