Indian food safety regulators have reportedly confirmed the presence of worms in a pack of Complan manufactured by Heinz.

According to local reports, the Uttar Pradesh Food Safety and Drug Administration has issued a notice to Heinz following a consumer complaint. The state FSDA indicated it is collecting additional Complan samples for further testing.

Heinz did not respond to requests for comment on the issue.

Indian food safety regulators have been cracking down on packaged food products after elevated levels of lead were detected in Nestle-manufactured Maggi noodles. Nestle maintains the lead was within permissible levels.
