
Chinese dairy company Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co. has made a second investment into the dairy production base in New Zealand it acquired at the end of 2012.
Yili has added CNY2bn (US$326.5m) to an initial CNY1.2bn investment made last year at the site, located in Waimate.

The new investment will be used in four parts, including a raw milk deep-processing project, a UHT liquid milk project, a milk powder production facility and a packaging facility.
Last week, Yili signed a milk powder venture with US co-op Dairy Farmers of America that will see the two companies build a facility in Kansas. Yili will own 30% of the venture.
