Australian food group Beston Global Food Co. said today (5 April) it has secured a contract to supply a “major national Australian wholesaler” with a range of its manufactured food products.

Beston, which did not name the wholesaler, said the supply contract includes five of its Edwards Crossing brand cheeses and six of its Mables cream cheese products.

The timing of the orders will see the revenue impact for Beston “primarily in the next financial year, 2017-18 and beyond”, the company said.

“The wholesaler supplies dry grocery and fresh food products to over 2,000 independent grocery stores across Australia, including major independent supermarkets and convenience stores,” Beston said. “The first orders for product are expected to be placed by the distribution centres from 22 May, following which distribution to independent retail supermarkets will commence nationally.”

Yesterday, Beston announced the sale of its Wellington dairy farm to raise resources to expand its Beston Pure Dairies business.
