The company, which makes frozen pizzas and French fries, had alleged that US food makers such as Kraft had been selling frozen pizza in Canada at below-cost prices, but has now dropped its complaint, reported Canada’s Globe and Mail.


“This is a business decision,” McCain Foods was quoted by the newspaper as saying. “We are not prepared to discuss the specific reasons involved in arriving at this conclusion.”


Back in May, the Canada Border Services Agency announced a temporary 34.9% levy on self-rising frozen pizzas from the US.
