Arla Foods is launching a line of cream cheese under its namesake brand in the US.
Arla cream cheese is free from artificial flavours, preservatives, thickeners and stabilisers. It is also made with milk free of added hormones, the company revealed.
“We believe that Arla cream cheese is what today’s consumer is looking for compared to what’s currently available in the supermarket dairy aisle,” said Don Stohrer, CEO of Arla’s US arm. “With less than half the ingredients of other common cream cheese spreads while still delivering great taste, Arla cream cheese is an authentically wholesome, delicious way to top your favourite bagel.”
The line includes five flavours: original, light, herbs & spices, peppercorn and blueberry. It will be available at retailers throughout the US.
In a strategy document for 2020, revealed at the end of last year, Arla said it will focus on organic growth based on “what consumers and customers want and need”. The US and spreadable cheese were both identified as key growth areas for the business.
