Canadian grocery retailer Sobeys has announced the appointment of Duncan Reith to the position of chief merchandising officer of the company.
Reith has held the position of president of Sobeys’ Ontario operations since March 2002. Nova Scotia-based Sobeys announced it had appointed Craig Gilpin to replace Reith.
“Gilpin joins Sobeys from another leading Canadian food retailer, where he held increasingly senior leadership positions over the past 15 years,” Sobeys said.
Sobeys operates more than 1,300 corporate and franchised stores in all ten Canadian provinces under retail banners that include Sobeys, Garden Market IGA, IGA, IGA extra and Price Chopper.
