National Starch has announced the appointment of Michael Klacik to senior director of Nutrition and Bioscience.


In this combined role, Klacik will be responsible for National Starch’s global Carbohydrate Nutrition business, which markets Hi-maize™, the leading brand of resistant starch and the company’s Plant Sciences Group in Indianapolis, USA. The Plant Sciences Group provides the commercial, novel and non-GM hybrid maize which is the basis for National Starch’s differentiated products like Hi-maize.


Most recently, Klacik served as vice president, business development at OmegaTech, a nutritional ingredient supplier to the food and dietary supplement markets. He also worked for Pfizer / Cultor Food Science in marketing and business development positions. Klacik has a BSc in food science from Rutgers University, USA and a MSc in food science from the University of Illinois, USA.
