A Grand Prairie company that recalled several of its products earlier this month because of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes has voluntarily issued another recall after Texas Department of Health (TDH) laboratory testing again found the bacteria in some of the prepared foods the company sells from catering trucks.

The company, Industrial Catering, has also temporarily closed its food preparation kitchen in Grand Prairie.


Industrial Catering is recalling its bean tacos; potato beef tacos; three meat breakfast burritos;  egg tacos; mucho grande steak burritos; “BBBig” breakfast burritos; barbacoa; egg and chorizo tacos; bacon, egg and cheese taquitos; and sausage, egg and cheese taquitos with lot numbers 094-271, 097-268 or 098-267.


Beef steak burritos with code 098-267 and guiso burritos with code 097-268 are also being recalled, as are the company’s breakfast club sandwiches, chicken fried steak sandwiches, double cheeseburgers and sausage twins with lot number 099-266. Lot numbers appear on the packaging.


The foods were sold in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Bell counties on 5, 8 and 9 April.

Tom Sidwa, acting director of TDH’s meat safety assurance program, said most of the products have probably been consumed but that any products customers saved should not be eaten.


Symptoms of listeriosis include fever, muscle aches and sometimes diarrhoea or nausea. Headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, or convulsions may occur if the infection spreads to the nervous system. The incubation period, or time from exposure to the development of symptoms, ranges from 12 hours to three weeks and is sometimes longer.
