Spanish biotech firm Puleva Biotech has said that it has applied for a patent for a food additive that the company says could improve baby milk formulas and help prevent intestinal infections.
Spanish biotech firm Puleva Biotech has said that it has applied for a patent for a food additive that the company says could improve baby milk formulas and help prevent intestinal infections.
The company said the additive contains substances that are the same as those contained in human milk that can help prevent infections, reported Reuters. The additive also contains growth factors that are found in breast milk.
Puleva Biotech is a unit of Spanish food group Ebro Puleva.
