The proportion of food manufacturers hiring for data analytics-related positions is up year-on-year, according to analysis of job trends by GlobalData.

Some 58% of the companies monitored by GlobalData were recruiting for at least one such position in March, the UK-based researcher said.

That was higher than the 56.2% of companies who were hiring for data analytics-related jobs a year ago but a decrease compared to the figure of 63.5% in February this year.

When it came to the rate of all job openings that were linked to data analytics, related job postings rose in March, with 5.5% of newly posted job advertisements being linked to the area.

This latest figure was the highest monthly figure recorded in the past year and is an increase compared to the 3.7% of newly-advertised jobs that were linked to data analytics in the equivalent month a year ago.

GlobalData says its analysis of the figures shows food manufacturers are hiring for data analytics jobs at a rate lower than the average for all companies within the group’s job analytics database. The average among all companies stood at 6.4% in March 2022.
