US grocery retailer Pathmark Stores has announced that it has introduced online shopping through the company’s web site at two stores in New Jersey.

A third store, located in Lawnside, NJ, will follow shortly after the inaugural rollout in Middletown and Edgewater.

Customers will be able to place an order at any time through the company’s recently enhanced website, and pick up their order between 10am and 7:30pm, Monday to Friday, and between 9am and 4:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. The fee for online shopping is US$10.00 per order.

“We are excited about the opportunity to provide our customers with online shopping. This offering gives the customer who is constrained by time another option to traditional supermarket shopping, enabling them to devote the timesavings to another aspect of their lives. Our improved website provides visitors a quick and efficient means to access information they desire. Pathmark’s goal is to react to the needs of our customers and we believe that both the online shopping programme as well as the website improvements address many issues relevant to today’s shopper,” said Grant McLoughlin, Pathmark’s senior vice president of advertising.

Pathmark operates 142 stores in the New York-New Jersey and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.
