Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) has acquired part of manufacturing business Sunlight Foods.
ADM – whose HQ is in Decatur, Illinois – takes over Sunlight Foods’ mayonnaise, sauces and salad products business to form ADM Sunlight Foods for markets in the south eastern US and the Caribbean.

This is the first venture into the mayonnaise, sauces and salad products business for ADM, which processes and produces other foodstuffs – with net sales of US$35.9bn for the fiscal year ending 30 June 2005.
ADM executive vice president for global processing William Camp said: “We will continue Sunlight Foods’ tradition of providing excellent service and quality products to the foodservice and private label markets in that area.”
Sunlight Foods – located in Miami and Florida – also packages edible oils and shortenings.
