Krispy Kreme Doughnuts announced on Friday that Dr Su Hua Newton will resign as a director of the company. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said the resignation was effective from December 31, 2005.

“Dr Newton’s decision to resign was not the result of any disagreement with the company, known to an executive officer of the company, on any matter relating to the company’s operations, policies or practices,” the statement said.
Dr Newton joined the board in April 2003.
