The sale includes buildings, machinery, equipment and inventory, as well as 18 acres of property, but does not include any Kraft brands made at the plant, finished goods or coffee raw materials.

On completion of the sale, the 350 workers at the plant will have the opportunity to join Maximus Coffee Group which, as part of the deal, will produce coffee and powdered beverages for Kraft, as well as its own products.

Maximus Coffee Group, part of Houston-based Cadeco Industries, is also to continue to produce the Minute Rice brand at the Houston unit until Ebro Puleva, which has acquired the brand from Kraft, transfers production to its own facilities.
