According to the Which? Good Food Guide, turkey is still the number one choice for the British Christmas dinner, in spite of the range of options available.

The guide revealed that 63% of households will be having a turkey dinner, with 10% choosing other poultry such as chicken or goose. Only 9% opt for another roast meat, while 4% go for a vegetarian Christmas.


The book also reveals that only 4% of those celebrating Christmas, choose to do so out at a restaurant, hotel or pub, rather than at home or someone else’s home. 


“There are some great restaurants out there open on Christmas Day and serving all sorts of imaginative alternative dishes,” says Elizabeth Carter, consultant editor of the guide. “But as so many people think Christmas isn’t Christmas without a turkey, most restaurants will be offering roast turkey too.”
