Del Monte Foods expects to record pretax charges and cash expenditures totalling US$22m relating to a cost-cutting plan announced in June, the company said yesterday (6 November) in a regulatory filing.

The charges include $11m in one-time costs related to job cuts and another one-time charge for property and equipment impairments. The remaining $1m accounts for unspecified costs, Del Monte reported.
