Beyond Meat chief brand officer Beth Moskowitz has become the latest executive to leave the plant based-meat business.

It follows the exit of two further executives at the California-based company, including COO Douglas Ramsey who left following a high-profile arrest for biting a man’s face.

Beyond Meat confirmed Moskowitz had departed but would not comment on why or where she was headed. Her last day at the company was reportedly last Wednesday 11 January.

A spokesperson told Just Food: “We have no comment on Beth Moskowitz. We have hired a marketing executive to lead our global marketing efforts who will begin early February.”

Moskowitz joined the company as chief creative officer in 2018 and became chief brand officer in January 2021. She also spent 17 years as vice president of business development at event ticket platform RazorGator.

Beyond Meat made global headlines last year when former COO Ramsey left his role after being arrested for biting a man’s nose. He was suspended immediately after the alleged altercation following a University of Arkansas football game in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

The news of Ramsey’s departure came as Beyond Meat again cut its sales forecast and axed hundreds of jobs. The Nasdaq-listed company said it had eliminated 200 jobs, with president and CEO Ethan Brown citing “current economic conditions” for the lay-offs.

Upon Ramsey’s departure, Beyond Meat said Jonathan Nelson, the company’s senior vice president of manufacturing operations, had been tasked with taking over operations activities “on an interim basis”.

Nelson, 57, joined Beyond Meat in May 2021 after almost a decade managing operations at plant-based food and beverage producer SunOpta. He acted as Beyond Meat’s interim COO between May and November 2021.

Shortly after Ramsey’s arrest, chief supply chain officer Bernie Adcock stepped down “to pursue another opportunity”.
