Japanese retailer Aeon reportedly wants to combine certain aspects of its operation with convenience store chain operator Lawson as part of a broad business tie-up, according to local press.

The proposals include installing Aeon automated teller machines at Lawson stores and developing private brand products together, reported The Daily Yomiuri yesterday (12 October).


It would be a boost to Aeon’s convenience store format to join up with the nation’s second-largest convenience store operator, Lawson, with Seven-Eleven Japan topping the convenience store industry at the moment.
