Laurus lost its CEO Harry Bruijniks last month over differences of opinion over the company’s strategic direction, and the company said that “it has been decided in mutual understanding [with Tewarie] to discontinue his association with the company”.

R. van der Hoek will be appointed as interim CFO with immediate effect, pending the appointment of a new finance chief, the company said.

The market reacted positively to the news: “We believe that after CEO Harry Bruijniks already left the company, a fresh start can be made with (supermarkets) Super de Boer going forward,” Patrick Roquas at Rabo Securities said in a note.
