Formerly CFO of ABN AMRO Bank, De Swaan will fill the vacancy left by Jan Hommen, who had been on the supervisory board and chairman of the audit committee since 2003.
De Swaan’s nomination for appointment will be on the agenda of the next general meeting of Ahold shareholders, the Dutch retailer said.
