Under the agreement, Knorr Foods, Xiamen Ajinomoto Life Ideal Foods, Ajinomoto China, and Xiamen Ideal Group, have established a new company Xiamen Ajiraku Ideal Foods capitalized at about USD$5.6m.
The Xiamen Ideal Group, which supplies raw vegetables to the new company says it has implemented a full traceability system. This is important says Ajinomoto to allay Japanese consumer fears over the provenance of foreign, particularly Chinese, vegetables.
