European Union veterinary experts will meet in Brussels to discuss whether British farmers can resume live exports of veal calves to the rest of the EU after a ten year ban, reported BBC news.
The original ban, aimed at preventing the spread of mad cow disease, could reportedly be lifted if the EU decides that Britain has done enough to prevent the spread of the disease. If the ban is lifted, beef and live cattle could be transported within the next few months, according to the BBC.
