In a statement, Hevo said the deal marks its entry into Germany and takes its own capacity to around 180 million dozen eggs a year. It did not disclose its current capacity.

Müritz, based 150km north of Berlin, has six farms supplying organic and free-range eggs, Hevo Group said.

“This acquisition is part of Hevo Group’s sustained growth strategy, aimed at consolidating a European production platform and strengthening relationships with the main food retail operators in Europe,” the company added.

CEO André Baldissera said: “In an increasingly volatile environment, we believe the best response is to build a more resilient group, with greater geographical diversification, a solid production structure and a long-term vision.”

Hevo Group has been part of Global Eggs, a producer with operations in Brazil, Uruguay, the US and Europe, since 2024.

In March, Global Eggs agreed a deal for private-equity firm Warburg Pincus to invest up to $1bn in the multinational eggs supplier. In a statement, Warburg Pincus said at the time the investment valued Global Eggs at $8bn.

Global Eggs’ businesses also include Brazil’s Granja Faria and US supplier Hillandale Farms. The company bought Hillandale Farms last year for $1.1bn.

The group also expanded its presence in Spain last year with the acquisition of the El Granjero egg company.
