Imai’s criticisms of SBF came yesterday [Thursday] in response to last week’s revelations that the meat processing company was engaged in a fraudulent labeling scam designed to take advantage of a government subsidies introduced after BSE was found in the national herd.
Speaking at a press conference, Imai insisted that SBF “should be disbanded and restarted from scratch.
“The problem concerns not only consumer safety,” he added: “The company also tried to cheat the public and trick taxpayers out of their money. That is not a businessman’s attitude.”
