US meat processor Smithfield Foods has appointed director Robert Manly to oversee its overseas interests.
Manly, an executive vice president, will take charge of Smithfield’s operations in Poland, Romania and the UK.
Manly will also have responsibility for the company’s Groupe Smithfield venture in Europe, ventures in Mexico and China and its interest in Spanish firm Campofrio.
“An important priority for Smithfield is to capitalize on our international growth,” said Smithfield president and CEO Larry Pope.
