Morinaga Milk Industry Co. and House Foods Corp said that they have expanded their United States operations to meet the demand. Morinaga has spent US$8m to double the annual output capacity at Morinaga Nutritional Foods, a US subsidiary, to 48m slabs of tofu. The output capacity at House Foods America has been increased by 70% a day to 220,000 slabs a day. The US tofu market is expanding at about 10% a year.
