With food production viewed as an issue of national security, Russian regulators would like the country to be self-sufficient in food production.
According to local reports, the National Security Council has drawn up a Food Security Doctrine, which aims to see domestic producers control 95% of the grain market, 90% of the milk market and “no less” than 80% of the meat and sugar markets.
