Nestlé Danmark, the Danish subsidiary of the Swiss food behemoth, has announced the closure of its Hjorring-based milk division with the loss of 187 jobs.

The milk division is engaged in the production of diet products and milk powder, over 90% of which were exported to Asia and the Middle East.


The company explained that the reason for the closedown is that Nestlé has recently lost considerable shares in the Asian and the Middle East markets.
