Employees at a Hampshire chicken processing plant owned by Webbs Country Foods are reeling at the news that the plant is to close. All five hundred jobs at the processing plant will go, although a spokesman for the Faccenda Group, which acquired Webbs last month, said that some workers would be offered alternative positions at other factories within the group. Faccenda said it has earmarked some £6m for investment in Webbs’ other facilities.
