A body set up to represent the interest of the Scottish food and beverage industries has named its chairman.
Allan Burns, a former executive of Smirnoff-to-Guinness owner Diageo, has been appointed to lead Scotland Food & Drink.
Burns said: “My immediate tasks are to meet the key players, recruit members, appoint a chief executive and executive team and get the organisation up and running.”
Scotland Food & Drink said that it is now looking to get backing from other leading organisations and that work is already underway to recruit more professionals from food and drink-related businesses.
