US food giant Heinz has launched a line of hand-held mini-meals under the Weight Watchers Smart Ones brand called Anytime Selections.

The concept is aimed at busy people who are looking to eat smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day as a way to maintain a healthy lifestyle and keep hunger at bay.

“Eating frequent mini-meals during the day can help keep hunger at bay, prevent overeating and provide the body with a constant energy source,” said Dr Idamarie Laquatra, director of global nutrition at Heinz.

The Weight Watchers Smart Ones Anytime Selections come in servings containing fewer than 300 calories and 7g of fat or less.

The line comprises two options: Chicken & Cheese Quesadillas and Calzone Italiano. They are already available in grocery stores nationwide, with a suggested retail price of US$3.19.
