Danish dairy giant Arla Foods has opened a DKK20m (US$4m) R&D facility for its ingredients business.
The centre, adjacent to Arla’s future head office in Aarhus, covers 2,000sq metres and employs 30 full-time technologists and 40 sales people.
”Siting our creative expertise under one roof is a huge advantage because knowledge, skill and state-of-the-art equipment is accessible to everyone,” said executive group director Jais Valeur, Arla Foods ingredients. ”It opens up a range of new opportunities for developing concepts for even more markets.”
Valeur said, with the new centre, the company has established “optimum conditions” for doubling turnover by 2013.
