Former chief executive Cees van der Hoeven will appear in court. The case involves Ahold’s acquisition of a stake in an Argentine supermarket operation sold by Chilean grocer D&S. Ahold bought the stake via its Argentine subsidiary Disco.

D&S, represented by Dutch law firm Nauta Dutilh, argues that Ahold completed the purchase this year in pesos, by then extremely devalued, and thus underpaid, reports the Financial Times.
