Renate Sommer, the MEP coordinating the European Parliament’s votes on food labelling reform, said that there was a “danger of information overload” on labels.


“If that happens, the risk we run is that the public will not bother reading the information provided,” she warned.


Sommer is drafting new proposals for the parliament’s consumer protection committee, which will debate them next March.
