UK-based James T Blakeman and Co. has withdrawn some of its sausages due to the products containing wheat (gluten) and sulphites not mentioned on the label.
The product is a possible health risk for anyone who is allergic or sensitive to wheat, gluten or sulphites, the company said today (30 September). The Food Standards Agency has issued an allergy alert.
Blakeman is urging anyone who is allergic or intolerant to wheat, gluten or sulphites not to eat the product.
The withdrawn products are Blakemans thin natural pork sausages (454g) and Blakemans thin collagen pork sausages (454g).
All date codes are between 29 September 2009 and 8 October 2009.
