US chocolate giant Hershey Foods is to divest a group of confectionery brands to Farley’s & Sathers, a privately held subsidiary of Catterton Partners.
The non-chocolate product lines, including Heide, Jujyfruits, Wunderbeans and Amazin’ Fruit, have fetched an undisclosed amount, and the transaction also involves the right to sell Chuckles under licence.
Hershey said that the deal was made to enable it to focus on its larger confectionery brands. The company added that the sale would have no effect on sales or earnings.
