These formal food health check systems are not widespread in many developing countries, lessening the appeal of their food exports to high value rich county markets.


An IFC note said: “Good safety and public health issues remain a global concern, with broad implications for international trade.” It added that “high-quality food safety management” was “essential…for Bangladesh to become a globally accepted player.”


Its training will help Bangladeshi manufacturers comply with “increasingly rigorous [rich country] auditing standards and laws governing…food processing”.
