A man has been arrested by police in Melbourne over a series of anti-globalisation messages daubed on the windows of a McDonald’s outlet in Collins Street in the city. The vandalism occurred during the anti-globalisation protests on 1 May.


Forty six-year-old Matthew Taylor is due to appear at Kyneton Magistrates Court today (4 June)


“This is the first person charged as a result of this investigation and no doubt it won’t be the last,” said a police spokesman. “The investigations into the actions of this person are still ongoing, and presently the investigation is also being undertaken by Australian Federal Police and authorities from the United States of America.”
