French herb company Darégal has acquired the frozen aromatic herbs business of compatriot food company Gyma, according to a company statement released this week.

Darégal, which cultivates, processes and markets a range of natural aromatic products, expects the acquisition to bolster its market position. The consolidated company expects to report a 2001 turnover of nearly FF400m (US$52m)
Currently, the company handles over 50,000 tonnes of culinary herbs a year, and more than 65% of its turnover is generated outside France.
