Belcolade, the Belgian business-to-business chocolate maker, is launching Oxanti, an anti-oxidant “rich” dark chocolate.

The company, which is a unit of global food ingredients group Puratos, is expanding its “great taste and wellness range, which includes no sugar added and sugar-free lines, Matt Crumpton, marketing manager, strategic business unit chocolate, told just-food.

“Historically foods on the market with a more healthier focus have sometimes disappointed in terms of taste,” Crumpton said. “This innovation ticks both boxes, and initial feedback since its recent launch has been extremely positive, mainly down to its taste.”

Crumpton said Belcolade is in talks with “key customers” to secure contracts for Oxanti. Crumpton said the first product would “probably” first appear in Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK, Germany and France but he added that it was “too early” to give firm details.
