Dutch retailer Super de Boer today (23 June) reported that its sales quickened during the second quarter of its financial year.


The company booked net sales of EUR391m (US$546.9m) for its second quarter, up from EUR379m a year earlier. Second-quarter consumer sales reached EUR488m against EUR480m last year.


Average weekly store sales grew by 5.1% to EUR135,000 per week – against a first-half increase of 3.7%.


First-half net sales stood at EUR759m compared to EUR747m a year earlier. Half-year consumer sales reached EUR951m against EUR947m a year ago.


CEO Jan Brouwer said the business was “satisfied” with the results.
